A short film on Chicago emcee/middle school teacher J. Beck. There is some serious positivity in this clip. Unfortunately for the students, J’s contract has not been renewed for another year. Wow.
Joe Becker is a middle school teacher & hip hop artist at an inner city school on Chicago’s south side. With an epidemic of murders going on in the streets and a 50% chance of youths not graduating from high school, there seems to be little hope. But Joe is trying to reach these kids and in doing so using his hip hop songs to help steer these kids away from a life of crime. Produced by David Turvey

Here, an exclusive look at a short film by photographer Ari Marcopoulos—created specifically for designer Stefano Pilati’s new collection—that’s slated to make its premiere at tomorrow’s Yves Saint Laurent show. Warning: If you’re squeamish about needles, you may want to just bide your time ’til the runway slideshow (which we’ll be bringing you right after the show wraps, of course).

Washington D.C. based Durkl has embarked on a journey around the world, quite literally, as they sought out brands from capitals around the globe for collaborations. This rather ambitious project, also known as the Capitol Collection, features limited edition packs and items created by Durkl and their partner from another part of the world. Dropping this month is the limited edition Capital Club package by Durkl and Canada’s Norml.
