Giving back on Thanksgiving …

This past thanksgiving i decided to volunteer at a church to serve food for the first time in my life. Once inside the church we walked inside and i expected chaos and lots of noise but NOPE it was pretty cool. Everything was pretty organized and there were a few tables with with people waiting to eat. As i looked at the sign in sheet i saw there were more volunteers than people in need of food which was cool but i thought it was gonna be a big crowd. Majority of the people who eventually came were elderly, less fortunate , or homeless. Due to the large amount of volunteers everyone was given 20 minutes to serve food. Although it sounds short it was long enough for me to see the smiles on everyones face who came up to get food. At times in life i see myself taking some things for granted so an experience like that always feeds my soul.
